At the core of who I am

I’m passionate about creativity and creative expression and believe every single person can be creative and express their creativity given the right tools and encouragement.

Hi, I’m Sara.

I’m a creativity coach, author and marketing expert. I love helping people find their creativity and express themselves creatively. One of the best things about what I do is helping those who have lost their creativity along the way, or who feel they aren’t very creative but would like to achieve their creative ambitions, unblock themselves, find deeper creative expression or simply find time in their lives to do creative work.

I’ve spent much of my adult life studying and taking workshops in creativity and creative expression in many forms, and I truly believe that everyone is creative and every person has the power to express themselves creatively, it just depends on how much that creativity has been suppressed through the social constructs of ‘life’ we live in day-to-day.

Creativity coaching is designed to help you foster the mindset, tools, time, energy and creative planning you need to express yourself creatively, whether that’s with a view to make a career of it or simply as a way to de-stress and enjoy yourself.

My creativity journey…

I’ve always been creative and had a strong sense of creativity…

And, if I look back on it now, I feel like I’ve been training to be a creativity coach without realising it my entire life.

In the beginning, I had huge confidence issues as a child, but despite this, I always had a great sense of creative energy and a creative pull like an invisible chord anchoring me to where and what I’m supposed to do.

I always had an affinity with writing and this was always my favourite way to express myself creatively, however I do love other creative activities ranging widely from crochet to decoupage and design. However, writing has always been where my genuine passion lies, but I spent a lot of years suppressing this call to creativity because. “real people don’t do jobs like that” was ringing in my ears from so many authority figures over the years.

However, even through my years of working corporate job roles, I still gravitated towards creative pursuits and spent 14 years in marketing, specialising in content, copywriting, social media and creative ways to use marketing in business.

But, throughout all these years, I still wrote…

And in 2016 I published my first novel followed a few years later by the second book.

However, despite this, I’ve suffered from great periods of creative blocks, times when I’ve struggled to work out my focus and direction, and times when I just had no room left for anything except existing.

And, it’s all these difficulties I’ve struggled with that’s led me to want to help other creatives on their journey to live a creative and fulfilling life.

Because, I’ve been that person that suppressed creativity and who I truly am and I’ve been the person living a life I didn’t recognise or love, just to fit in with what society deemed as ‘successful’.

And the truth is you can only do that for so long until you have to really examine yourself and where you want to go in an honest and sometimes difficult way, to take yourself in the direction you’re supposed to be going in.

My new creativity mission..

Now I’m on a mission to help as many people as possible…

To not only find their creativity but to express themselves in a way that leaves room for those deep creative undercurrents that sometimes bubble up and leave us with some of the best work we’ve ever produced.

Because, our creativity is nature’s gift to us and we need to not only accept it but revel in it and find ways to break through the social constructs that we can’t, or shouldn’t have creativity in our lives or make time for it.

I believe that when we find time for creativity in our lives it can be hugely beneficial and can enhance not only creative practice but our health and wellbeing, which in turn can help us live more fulfilling and rich lives.
